A show in which you (the audience) are invited to prepare a five to seven-minute true story about yourself. The theme this time is AWKWARD TEENAGE YEARS
We want your stories of teenage love (and heartbreak), extra curriculars (sports, theatre, getting in trouble…), teen subcultures (jocks, divas, goths, nerds, basket cases…) and more. We want the good, the bad, the embarrassing. Stories of big life changes you experienced as a teen.
Do I have to tell a story?
NO, much of the audience will watch. But eight names will be drawn to share their stories and anyone who might want to tell a story is STRONGLY encouraged to prepare one and give it a go!
How do I prepare a story? GOOD QUESTION! Here is some advice to get started:
* Use the broad theme of the evening to inspire memories of personal, life-changing experiences. Choose one of your most memorable and share the moments leading up to and after the experience.
* Humour is always welcome, but don’t feel obligated to be funny. True voices on stage are just as powerful as humour.
* Try writing it down to get it down to five minutes and to pinpoint the most crucial moments you want to include.
