New Year’s Eve 26/27 at The Button Factory

One last dance for 2026, and a fresh start to 2027. We’re gathering at The Button Factory this New Year’s Eve for Sumthin’ Fresh + Wild, a night of music, dance and good company in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Joining us are eight artists to bring the flair and fire to see out the year with, and plenty of reasons to bring your people together.

Gather your friends and lovers, or come on your own and settle into the company of the room. We’d love to spend the turn of the year with you.

TWO LEVELS HOUSEY & BASSEY

Facettes

Mediterranean colour, Middle Eastern textures and organic house woven into a musical story.

Facettes draws on his Mediterranean heritage to build sets with the atmosphere of a journey. Inspired by the storytelling world of One Thousand and One Nights, he brings Middle Eastern and Mediterranean sounds into conversation with organic and Afro house. Warm percussion, electronic textures and a strong sense of place connect the chapters.

Anirvan Deva

Slow-burning grooves, multicultural downtempo and deep basslines with an ecstatic dance sensibility.

Originally from Italy and based in Aotearoa since 2011, Anirvan Deva brings more than two decades of DJ experience to the dancefloor. His selections explore multicultural downtempo, slow tech and deep grooves, carried by warm, resonant basslines. Rooted in an ecstatic dance approach, his sets give dancers room to listen, connect and let movement unfold.

BAYKER

Deep, driving melodic house and techno shaped by six years in Berlin.

New Zealand-born DJ and producer BAYKER is based in Auckland after six years immersed in Berlin’s underground music scene. His sound centres on melodic house and techno, with deep, driving grooves and an emotive edge. Alongside collaborations with GHEIST, he releases music through his own ZELAND imprint, bringing his own vocals into his productions.

Gabriella Gonzalez

House and techno with Latin and Afrobeat influences, selected with a feel for the room.

Born in Buenos Aires and living in New Zealand since 2005, Gabriella Gonzalez brings a broad musical palette and a strong instinct for atmosphere to her DJ sets. House and techno sit alongside Latin and Afrobeat influences, with selections shaped around the mood of the dancefloor. Her experience spans venues and events across Aotearoa, from Auckland to the South Island.

BLASE

Ecstatic grooves, heavy bass and a playful, genre-crossing approach to the dancefloor.

Auckland DJ and producer Stephen Blase brings an open-eared approach to electronic music, moving between ecstatic dance and heavier bass sounds. His sets put movement at the centre, following the energy of the room rather than staying inside one genre. With dancefloor experience across Aotearoa and overseas, BLASE brings a sense of adventure to every selection.

LadyFem

Lush bass, playful surprises and a somatic approach that invites the whole body to move.

LadyFem approaches DJing through the body, shaping multi-genre journeys with rich bass and a playful sense of discovery. Her selections move between grounded grooves and more spacious moments, with room for surprise and a touch of the sacred. Each set is an invitation to follow sensation, loosen up and find your own way into the dance.

DJai Ma

Earthy bass, melodic house and tribal rhythms from Queenstown’s ecstatic dance community.

Queenstown-based DJai Ma helps guide her local ecstatic dance community through music that moves between reflection and release. Taking inspiration from Jai Ma, an invocation of the Divine Mother, she weaves earthy bass, melodic house, tribal rhythms and ambient textures into her sets. Expect a journey with space to settle, build energy and move freely.

SHULGIN

Anirvan Deva’s bass project: dubstep, 140, UK garage, grime and drum & bass.

SHULGIN is the bass-focused project Anirvan Deva launched in 2024. Drawing on dubstep, 140, UK garage, grime and drum & bass, it explores a heavier side of his musical world: textured low end, raw rhythms and physical dancefloor energy. This is a distinct set from Anirvan Deva’s deeper, slower selections, with the bass firmly out front.
