Andy Turner brings a new exhibition of paintings to The Button Factory, sharing work he has been developing over the past two years.

His large abstract paintings move through bold colour and interlocking forms, bringing together a practice that spans painting, murals, sculpture and live art.

About the artist

Born in Falkirk, Scotland, and based in Leigh, north of Auckland, Andy has been exhibiting since 1989. His work has appeared at Te Karanga Gallery, Leigh Sawmill Café, Crave Café and Mobile Art, alongside murals, sculpture symposiums and large-scale live artworks at music events.

His connection with Auckland’s underground music scene runs through this history, including live painting at Tuatara, Dreamtrail and Tantra events in the 1990s and the FRESH exhibitions at Wyndham Bowling Club.
