Weekly Sewing Community

Sewciety: Learn to Sew with Confidence

Every Monday Evening at The Button Factory

There’s something deeply satisfying about being able to repair, alter and reinvent your own clothes. Instead of paying for simple alterations or letting garments sit unworn in your wardrobe, learn the skills to make them fit perfectly yourself.

Sewciety is a welcoming sewing community where beginners and curious makers come together to learn practical techniques in a relaxed, social environment. Whether you’ve never touched a sewing machine or simply want to build your confidence, you’ll be guided step by step through skills you’ll use for years to come.

Hem Pants, Skirts & Turn Jeans into Shorts

In these hands-on sessions  you’ll learn how to:

Hem pants, jeans and skirts
Turn old jeans into stylish shorts
Use both hand-sewing and machine hemming techniques
Achieve a clean, professional-looking finish
Understand the tools, measurements and methods that make alterations easy

By the end of the session, you’ll leave with practical skills you can use again and again.

Bring Your Own Garment

Bring along a pair of pants, jeans or a skirt you’d like to alter. You’ll work on your own clothing with guidance throughout the workshop, leaving with both a finished garment and the knowledge to tackle future projects at home.
