Submission Session

The government is rushing bills through parliament so fast it’s hard to keep up, and the submission process can feel overwhelming. Deadlines for submissions on bills such as the Move-on Orders Bill (which criminalises homelessness) and the Definitions of Woman and Man Bill (which writes trans, intersex, takatāpui and non-binary New Zealanders out of the law) are less than a month away.

Let’s make submissions easier by doing it together. Bring your laptop to The Button Factory, grab a hot chocolate, find a seat on the couch, get cosy and get writing.

A submission can take 5 minutes or half an hour and you don’t have to be a writer, the important thing is to have your voice heard! This is not a workshop or educational event, but a space to come together, share templates and resources, and support each other to have our say.

Bring a laptop or phone and koha, all proceeds go towards keeping The Button Factory alive and thriving <3
