Koffee Stains – A Cultural Storytelling Exhibition
Sacred Stains is a cultural storytelling exhibition by Aotearoa-based artist Amandeep Rakhra, exploring heritage, spirituality, and identity through a natural painting process using coffee and acrylic to create vintage, time-worn textures.
What began as an experimental technique evolved into a deeper artistic language. Using brewed coffee as Base, the artworks form stains, textures, and tonal variations that resemble aged manuscripts and fragments of memory.
Each stain becomes a symbol not of imperfection, but of story time, and lived experience.
Through portrait works and symbolic compositions, Sacred Stains reflects themes of faith, cultural heritage, and spiritual resilience.
Inspired by Sikh history and personal curiosity about identity and belief, the exhibition invites viewers to pause, reflect & connect with stories that transcend cultures and generations.
